Acerca del evento
This advanced level course is to help all osteopaths become better equipped to enhance their clinical engagement with women with complex needs, especially in relation to pelvic floor and pelvic visceral health and function This is one of 4 level 2 courses, which will enable you to them enrol for the internals practicals course. The four linked programmes cover everything from general urognynaecology and conditions such as endometriosis, to conception, pregnancy, labour and delivery, post partum, pelvic health, scarring, menopause, prolapse, breast problems, and working with older women. This is the THIRD of four linked level 2 units, that can be done together, or as stand alone elements. Level 2 Units b and c include theory of internals and complex pelvic floor assessment, and external evaluation. For detailed instruction and practical guideance for internal assessment per vagina or per rectum, you need to also enrol on the internals practical block. All four level 2 units are a pre-requisite for the internals practical course - so that we can cover all the elements across the lifespan rlevvant to the use of these techniques in osteopathic practice.
This THIRD unit is designed for those who have already begun their journey into women's health. Ideally people will have attended all 4 of the level 1 women's health programmes, but the level 2 courses can be done independantly if you have some prior experience.
This THIRD programme covers complexity in urogential and pelvic health, across a variety of clinical presentations, and covers risk, trauma informed care, health and hygeine, communicaiton and ethics and much more. It includes practical instruction in advanced visceral, fluidic, neural and myofascial approaches. You will gain a deep understanding in bladder, global urogential, gynaecologicla and rectal / digestive health and presentations in women and how to integrate oteopathic care into their other mangement and treatment dynamics.
You are strongly advised to undertake all 4 of the level 2 units to gain a comprehensive understanding of these issues.
Day one includes an indepth analysis of inegrated pelviv function, and whole body-pelic integration, beyond that covered in UNIT 2, level 2. The emotional, trauma-informed, and patholphyiological dynamics of pelvic function are covered, with extensive review of neural reflexes, fluidic consdierations and more. Day two considers in more depth issues regarding vaginal and rectal health, implications for global, local and internal assessment. Day three deepends the understanding of the osteopathic contribution, competence and evidence framework for mnagement of complex pelvic condistions across the lifespan.
This course critically appraised in much more depath how osteopaths can assess the pelvis and including the use of internal vaginal and rectal assessment (theory). If you wish to learn internal practical assessment, evaluation and management of the post partum pelvis (or the complexities of urogential management), then you must also enrol in the internals programme. This can only be done if you enrol in ALL FOUR of the level 2 programmes. It is part of a complex pelvic certification from the CNMO. That internals programme is in FAR MORE DEPTH than the mummy MOT course, and includes treatment as well as evaluation and includes 3D pelvic and integrated function consdierations in an osteopathic persepctive.
All the level 2 course uses extensive evidence base, introduces new concepts and does not rely on one treatment modality. This course does not teach 'cranial', but instead teaches you how to interact with physiology and the emergent nervous system through applying traditional osteopathic concepts through touch and gentle tissue exploration. For osteopaths - you will be asked for your osteopathic registration after enrolment.
These units form part of the face to face teaching componets of the Certificate and Diploma programmes in Women's Health, delivered by Caroline through her postgraduate College, the CNMO, although you can do them as stand alone CPD events if you wish.
