A Osteopatia é um método, uma abordagem filosófica dos cuidados de saúde. Não é um conjunto de técnicas e não se concentra no transtorno, mas na pessoa e em como ela pode ser ajudada através do trabalho prático em seu corpo e em sua pessoa, para apoiar sua dinâmica de autocura e autorregulação. É uma abordagem biológica metafisiológica realizada com a pessoa e que utiliza a experiência e a compreensão do praticante. O método osteopático é aplicável em toda e qualquer situação e ambiente clínico e de saúde.
